Live from the stage/my workspace

Sarah Dusek

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am a senior undergraduate at Furman University and a double major in English and Studio Art. My skills in both fields have allowed me to tackle unique jobs such as children book illustration and character design. I currently am working with an organization called ReCraft Greenville to design a mascot and build a visual library of vectors of said mascot.

Within my art work I aim to channel the excitement that I felt drawing on my bedroom floor as a kid. It looks like bright colors, whimsical characters, and a good dose of humor. In addition to illustrating children’s books, I have worked with children as an art teacher. Their boundless imagination and enthusiasm is always a source of inspiration and a good reminder for why I make art in the first place.

Emerging into the professional world, I aim to carry the optimism and excitement I’ve held throughout my undergraduate career. Any work can be meaningful with the right attitude, and if the viewer is able to glean that earnestness then the work is only that much more memorable.
